This owl photo was taken in Colorado, near Morrison in Jefferson County. The Western Screech Owl is 7 - 10 inches in length. They are small, short, stocky birds, with a large head and almost no neck. The Western Screech-Owl is found across the Western United States and Canada. Screech-Owls can be found in a variety of different habitats including deserts, all types of forests and wooded areas, shrublands, orchards, and suburbs.
My name is Shirley Dutchkowski and I have collections of artwork, as well as photography. I did my first painting in January of 2019. I read somewhere to "embrace the loneliness and reinvent yourself" and that's exactly what I did that winter. I started painting. As a new artist, I found creating to be my salvation.
