Description
The bald eagle is a bird of prey found in North America. The Bald Eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782 and a spiritual symbol for native people for far longer than that. The eagle is symbolic of the importance of honesty and truthful principles. With a 2 m (7 ft.) wing span, a weight of 3-7 kg (7-15 lb.), and an overall size of 71-96 cm (28-38 in.), the bald eagle is one of the largest raptors in the world. They can reach speeds of up to 160 km/hr (100 mph) when diving. They live around 20 to 30 years old in the wild. This Photo was taken in Bear Creek Park, Colorado.
